Axa was consolidating from several locations around central London into one new headquarters. We carried out a series of interviews with senior members of staff and this was followed by a workplace effectiveness appraisal. Findings from this report then informed the concept and design development phases.
We consulted closely with the client's Steering Committee throughout the design process. Block planning and stacking exercises were conducted to ensure the design achieved desired adjacencies between teams and their associated support spaces.
Reception, business lounge, meeting and client facilities were located on the top floor. Bespoke joinery was included for all client areas and the boardroom.
The business units were located on the floor below with work spaces for 400 staff. The design and furniture solution had to be flexible, encourage collaboration and be aesthetically pleasing.
The client was delighted with the end product which supported their new branding and improved staff performance.
